Coming Soon: Waterfront Living at the Port of Everett’s Waterfront Place
Two four-story residential buildings broke ground along Everett’s waterfront Monday, the first residential projects to begin construction for the 65-acre Waterfront Place Central Redevelopment.
The redevelopment of the Port of Everett, which will include five districts, up to 660 housing units, commercial and retail spaces, will support more than 2,000 jobs and $8.6 million in tax revenue, the port said. The port is investing $85 million in public infrastructure this year by building additional roadway access, new public spaces and a new marine infrastructure at Fisherman’s Harbor, which will include a new dock for the public.
“This historic project will bring housing to the Everett waterfront for the first time in its history, and provide an early signal to the community and follow on developers that the port is committed to implementing its vision of a vibrant destination waterfront,” Port of Everett Commissioner Glen Bachman said in a press release.
The eco-friendly Waterfront Place Apartments, to be built by Calgary-based development firm Gracorp and multi-family builder SeaLevel Properties, will include more than 247,000 square feet of more than 260 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom homes.
“We’re incredibly excited to be a part of this historic Waterfront development in Everett,” SeaLevel Properties Director John Shaw said in a press release. “Our developments focus on high-quality design and creating projects that will resonate with the community. We believe the market is ready for this type of multifamily project in Everett and pre-leasing interest continues to out-pace our expectations.”
The buildings are located at 1300 and 1400 W. Marine View Drive.
The north building, which is scheduled for completion by spring 2021, is designed to “provide an industrial and timber-inspired experience” and will include 135 units, according to a press release. The south building, set to be complete by summer 2021, will include 131 units and is inspired by marine life.
The apartment buildings were announced in June 2018 and are leasing now.
